Lim Leong Seng is an acclaimed Singaporean sculptor. He has been a member of the Singapore Modern Art Society since 1977, and was elected as the President of the Society in 2001. From the early age of 18, Lim trained in Buddhist studies and Chinese painting under the Buddhist Master Venerable 'Zhumo'. This formative period provided him with the knowledge and skills to experiment with different media and subjects in his work. He is proficient in the use of bronze, steel, collage, and mixed media in his artworks. His artworks and public sculptures reflect Singapore’s multicultural heritage and Asian values, and capture the essence of Singapore’s nation-building process. Lim has exhibited internationally and received many accolades, including the Grand Prize in MCI Art Competition in 1990, the Jurors’ Choice in Philip Morris Group of Companies Singapore Art Awards in 1997, and the Tan Tsze Chor Art Award – Gold in 1997.
