Singapore Bicentennial Public Art Commissions

Singapore Bicentennial Public Art Commissions

28 Aug 2019 - 29 Feb 2020

In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the founding of modern Singapore, the Public Art Trust has commissioned two imaginative public sculptures which draw on history to highlight a wide cast of contributors to Singapore's development and invite reflections on our future.

The artworks by Singaporean artists, Crossing Shores by Speak Cryptic and The Time Tree by Robert Zhao were officially unveiled on 28 August 2019 by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.

Both sculptures will be on view until February 2020. The Time Tree is currently located at Jubilee Park in Fort Canning Park until October 2019, and will travel to two other sites across Singapore after. Crossing Shores will remain at Siglap Canal in East Coast Park until February 2020.
